For such a strange yet simple concept, Pac-Man is one of the biggest success stories in all of entertainment history.

The game from Namco was key in ushering in the video game boom of the early '80s, led to at least two TV shows, spawned multiple sequels, and is estimated to have generated at least $16 billion in revenue.

While our little yellow, big-mouthed friend has endured for generations, 1982 may have been peak Pac-Man fever — so much so that a song literally titled "Pac-Man Fever" by Buckner & Garcia became a top 10 hit.

It's no surprise then that the game made its way into all avenues of popular culture, including one quite popular sitcom from the time in which a main character ends up getting addicted to the game. That addiction just so happened to allow audiences to learn all the ins and outs of the game. Clever.
